A Funny Poetry from Poetryamerica.com

How School Works
© By Steven J. Engelhardt

Spectacular!
Today is Monday,
You're off to that dreaded place,
5 days a week you spend here,
You'll never escape!
You have your books,
You have your brain,
When the day is through,
It'll be in a lot of pain,
And you have your friends,
Some good and some great,
But talk to them too much and you'll be late.
Keep your grades up though and watch with care,
Someday you'll look at colleges and say I want to go there,
So with your head full of knowledge and shoes full of feet,
If you let it, school can help you accomplish any feat!

Today I had an away game at Seoul International School. The game ended around 6'o clock; however we couldn't come home right away. The cold weather had frozen the bus engine. The basketball players and cheerleaders were as exhausted as they can possibly be(including myself). We were hungry and we couldn't get reach of food(except junk food) until we reached a rest stop on the highway. Believe it or not it was 9'o clock when we ate our dinner.
Sitting on a small plastic chair with layers of clothes, I thought about how tomorrow is another day of school. How awful is that! I had terrible cold, I was filled with drugs(cold medicine), and I was exhausted as I can possibly be.
When I came back to dorm, I noticed a pile of homework waiting for me with its glossy eyes on my desk. I started with English homework. I was searching through internet for a poem and I found a poem that expressed the way I felt in the rest stop.
The second and third line of the poem really appealed to me. Honestly, mondays are always long. Everyday I count how many days we have left in a week. I desperately seek for a good night sleep however never got to have one during week days. Despite all the negative things I can think about school, I try to think about how school can help me in a way. I say to myself 'This exhaustion is part of your memory. It will lead you to your success.' The last sentence of the poem really related to what I always tell myself.

I like this poem!!
I agree that once the students gets into high school, it's a lot of pain. However, there are always many things that you can learn from school and I always think about school as this way, "another difficult and fun process in someway that will lead me to one step closer to my dream."
Thank you for nice poetry Jean!!
Love ya always~~

I have been in your shoes before. It is tough to summon up the energy to face our required tasks, sometimes. Isn't it? You sum up your thoughts well, Jean. Keep up the good work finding poems that you relate to :)
